Jamie + Shane | Springfield MO Engagement & Wedding Photography

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting up with one of the most wonderful couples! Jamie & Shane are so sweet together. They are always smiling and laughing together, and you cannot help but join in. We visited the park where Shane asked Jamie to be his girlfriend and also later where he asked her to be his wife. Then we headed Downtown Springfield to The Coffee Ethic where they had their first date!

How did you meet?
We first met at a friend’s house while watching a movie and eating dinner. Shane looked down at his food the whole time and didn’t say anything to me because he was so nervous (apparently one of our friends who was there was trying to set us up…Shane was aware but I had no idea). He eventually started coming to a Bible study I was going to and then we finally started talking and hanging out.

What are your favorite things to do together?
We LOVE coffee and Chinese food. We probably do that together every week. We also love making meals together, going on walks, driving around town, sitting on the couch, going to church. We could probably sit in a empty room together and still have fun.

What did you do for your first date?
Our first date was getting some coffee at The Coffee Ethic. We hung out there for a bit and Shane’s original plan for after coffee was to walk at Jordan Valley but it was raining so we ended up talking for hours by his car in the parking garage.
Tell us about your proposal.
I (Shane) along with one of my best friends went to the park next to Cox Hospital which is where I asked Jamie to be my girlfriend and set up candles and lights on the bridge where I asked her. A friend of hers that I had not met was in town to do something with her and I managed to get in contact with her and arranged to have her take Jamie to the park when they were done. They got to the park and Jamie’s friends sent her to the bridge where I was waiting. When she got there I was kind of nervous. I had several things I wanted to say but I ended up cutting it short because of being nervous. I was only on one knee for a couple of seconds but she said yes!
