Sharon + Scott | St Joseph Catholic Church Wedding, Springfield MO

Scott & Sharon’s wedding day at St Joseph’s Catholic Church had an extra special place in my heart. From the moment I first met Sharon, her sister, and mom for coffee at Eurasia I fell in love with their family. Their kindness and open hearts had me immediately feeling like a part of their family. After months and months of planning – our world turned to chaos. Sharon & Scott’s wedding day was my very first wedding to be fully affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as stay-at-home orders were locally mandated just a few days (and honestly felt like mere hours) before their big day. They chose to be wed in a private ceremony on their wedding date and push their celebration out to their one-year anniversary. So many tears were shed all around, including my own.

So the waiting and planning began again — and then FINALLY after a year of craziness their celebration arrived. We arrived at the parents of the bride’s home, where it was overflowing with smiles and laughter. There was something so special about getting ready in her home. The entire day showed just how important family is to this wonderful couple – all the way down to the details. The bride wore a vintage wedding dress & veil that her great-grandmother designed & made for her grandma that she was named after. She also held her grandma’s prayer book. In the smaller details, special significance carried thru: a blue necklace was given to her by her grandparents at her first communion, the earrings were the first gift Scott ever gave her, which later was the inspiration for her engagement ring. Every little thing had sentimental touches that just squeezed my sentimental heart.

And then, after a morning full of getting ready, Scott and Sharon renewed their vows in front of their family & friends. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and I could just feel the love surrounding this amazing couple. It may have taken a year to bring their loved ones altogether – but nothing could take away their happiness as they celebrated the night away with all of their loved ones. I couldn’t stop going thru their images just to pick a handful to post. It was such an amazing day!

Sharon & Scott, Thank You for sharing your special day with us. While I know the last year didn’t bring what you expected I hope it has just made your relationship that much stronger. There are not enough words for me to explain how much I adore you and your families. I am beyond blessed to have been part of such a special day and I cannot wait to see where your story takes you next!

Lots of Love,

Jessica
