I went into 2014 vowing to develop stronger organizational skills when it comes to work. This meant spending part of the holiday season going thru the thousands of images on my harddrives and tagging them with keywords to easily find when needed. As I spent a lengthy amount of time sorting I started to become a little disturbed by what I was finding…
In the last 5 years:
I have thousands of client images…
Thousands of my children and various family members…
Hundreds of my friends and their own children…
and do you know how many images I have of myself? 49!
Granted, I’m sure there are several more iPhone selfies and a few tags from friends on Facebook which are not stored on my computer, but the truth is I avoid being in front of the camera often, being more content on the other side of the lens. How sad is this? Where am I in my own life? Our children are going to grow up with more photos of themselves than many others, but they are also going to view albums devoid of their Mom, lacking proof of all the years I have spent caring and nurturing them. I don’t want that for my own family or yours.
