Courtney + Ryan, Downtown & Fellows Lake Engagement Photos in Springfield MO

I first met Courtney several years ago when I photographed her sweet sister’s wedding, and I’ve adored her ever since. So when she reached out after Ryan proposed, I may or may not have done a happy dance. Okay—I definitely did…
Recently, we met for dinner to chat about all the things around engagement and wedding plans. Courtney is a planner at heart (my kind of girl!), and I finally got to sit down and meet Ryan properly. Let me just say—they’re an absolutely adorable couple, and I couldn’t wait to get them in front of my camera.
We originally had their session planned for the weekend, but thanks to all the flooding and rain, we had to push it back. And honestly? I think it worked out for the best because Wednesday night ended up being perfect. We kicked things off downtown and immediately started having the best time. These two were up for anything. There was so much laughter, sweet smiles, and giggles. Ryan was thrilled when I told him he could kiss his beautiful bride-to-be as much as he wanted, which, let’s be real, he was going to do anyway. Their connection is so genuine and joyful—you can tell they just love being together.
After exploring downtown, we headed out to Fellows Lake, where we got to meet up with their pup Milo! Milo is just as photogenic as his parents, and he was fully committed (as long as the treats kept coming). He was such a good boy and totally stole the show for a bit. Once he was all tuckered out, Milo went home, and we finished the evening playing in the field and chasing every last drop of golden light. I was having so much fun, I didn’t even want to put my camera down.
My heart is seriously so full after this session. Courtney and Ryan have a love that radiates in every image—and I cannot wait for their big day! It’s going to be one for the books.
Lots of Love,
Jessica

Logan + Kyle’s Bright & Colorful Wedding at Greenhouse Two Rivers

Some weddings just live in your heart a little differently, and Logan and Kyle’s wedding day at Greenhouse Two Rivers was one of those for me.
I’ve been looking forward to this one since the moment Logan got engaged. I first met her when she was a bridesmaid in another wedding I photographed, and I remember instantly thinking, “She’s one of the most genuinely kind, joy-filled people you’ll ever meet.” I’ve never actually told her this, but when I saw that Kyle had proposed, I crossed my fingers and quietly hoped & prayed I’d hear from her about doing her photos. And when she did reach out I may have done a little happy dance!

Then I met Kyle during their engagement session, and it just made sense. He’s the calm to her vibrant, bubbly energy. The way he steadies her while letting her shine—it’s the kind of connection that makes you believe in perfect pairs.

After what felt like forever, their day finally arrived. As I walked into Greenhouse, the vibe was electric. The guys were hanging out watching the game, laid-back and laughing, while the girls were blaring music, dancing, and singing as they got ready. I walked into hugs from two beautiful JYP brides. Even better, I got to see another one of my favorite human beings on this planet, the always-amazing Andie from Airbrush by Andie.

Everything about this day felt perfectly thought out—from the colorful bridesmaid dresses to the gorgeous rainbow bouquets. While the guests and groomsmen wore classic black, Logan’s bridal party brought the color and the energy. It was beautiful, bright, and unapologetically joyful—just like her. And through it all, Kyle was her steady calm, grounding the day with quiet warmth and the kind of love that lets her shine even brighter. Of course, the girls made sure Kyle felt the joy too—sneaking him little surprises throughout the morning that kept him smiling long before he saw his bride.

And let me tell you—I have never laughed so much on a wedding day. Even in the quiet, emotional moments—like when Logan’s mom and maid of honor helped her into her dress—we were all doubled over laughing. At one point, she was literally bracing herself against the wall because she couldn’t stop giggling. It was that kind of day.

Even the looming clouds and threat of rain couldn’t dim the energy. As thunder rumbled in the distance, Logan and Kyle met across the pond for a back-to-back vow exchange. No peeking. Just promises. She started crying the second she saw the back of his head—and honestly, I probably was wiping a few tears away myself watching them.

The ceremony itself took place inside the greenhouse, surrounded by family, friends, and a storm rolling through outside. But all eyes were on her. As she walked down the aisle, Kyle lit up, and everything else just faded away. The wonderful Amy Wallace officiated a ceremony that had us all laughing one minute and wiping our eyes the next.

The reception was an explosion of color, sparkle, and love. Disco balls, bright florals, and cozy candlelight covered the tables. There were heartfelt speeches, emotional dances, and so many moments that made everyone feel like family. And when I say this crowd knew how to celebrate, I mean they CELEBRATED. The rain may have stolen our sunset, but it gave us something even better: a dance floor that stayed full until the very end.

And as the night wrapped up, the newlyweds danced out into a cascade of bubbles, glowing, laughing, hand in hand.

Logan and Kyle, THANK YOU. Thank you for choosing and trusting in me with these amazing and perfect memories. Your day was every bit as beautiful, vibrant, and joy-filled as the love you share. Thank you for letting me be a small part of it.

    Lots of Love,

    Jessica

Julie + Mike | Savoy Ballroom, Springfield MO Wedding

The second wedding of our Spring season brought us to the always charming Savoy Ballroom Ballroom on Historic C-Street in Springfield—and what an absolutely gorgeous day it was! You could feel the buzz of excitement in the air as loved ones gathered to celebrate Julie and Mike’s wedding day, an intimate and joyful occasion surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

From the very start of the day, there was a beautiful sense of calm and connection that set the tone for everything to come.

We began the day with a sweet first look, tucked into a quiet corner of the venue, just the two of them. Watching them take that moment in together—just the two of them—was such a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do.

The piano became the perfect backdrop for not only their first look, but also Julie’s stunning bouquet—rich with deep burgundy, blush, and ivory florals. We captured timeless portraits—Julie absolutely glowing in her classic gown, and Mike looking so proud to be by her side. Their joy and ease with one another made every moment feel so genuine.
Afterward, we spent time capturing portraits with their closest family and friends, soaking up the happiness that filled the room from the very start.

As guests arrived, a cozy cocktail hour welcomed them into the space. Misty with Misty Willinger Events had, as always, brought her signature warmth and stunning touch to every detail—creating a space that felt both elegant and inviting. Smiles, laughter, and hugs filled the room as Julie and Mike mingled and greeted their loved ones. There was such a laid-back and heartfelt vibe throughout the day—it honestly felt like one big happy reunion.

One of the most memorable moments came during the ceremony itself. Guests gathered close as Julie and Mike walked hand-in-hand down the aisle together—a powerful and meaningful entrance that perfectly reflected their partnership. Their vows were spoken with heartfelt emotion, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The ceremony was personal, meaningful, and filled with joy—exactly as it should be.

After a quick room flip (and a few more smiles), the evening celebrations officially kicked off! While guests enjoyed dinner, we stepped out for a few final golden-hour portraits—and yes, we had to get a few with that epic DeLorean. (Because how often do you get the chance for time-travel-worthy wedding photos?)

Once we returned, dessert was served, heartfelt poetry and loving speeches followed, and then the dance floor came alive. Jason Whorlow, Whorlow Entertainment, filled the ballroom with music and energy, keeping the dance floor alive long into the evening.

One of my favorite parts of the night was stepping outside with the newlyweds one last time under the glowing string lights in the courtyard. The night had slowed, the excitement still buzzing in the background, but for just a moment it was quiet. Julie and Mike embraced, wrapped in the warmth of the day, and it felt like the perfect closing scene to such a beautiful celebration.

Julie & Mike, I’m so thankful I had the chance to share in your day. Your love, your laughter, and those sweet little glances—it was all such a joy to witness. I’m wishing you both a lifetime filled with just as much happiness as they felt on this perfect Spring day.

      Lots of Love,

      Jessica

Bob + Tori | Big Cedar Garden Chapel + Airbnb Wedding

Wedding season is officially here—and I truly can’t think of a better way to kick off 2025 than with Tori and Bob’s wedding day! Spring was in the air and so was the undeniable joy of two people madly in love, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.
We started the day bright and early at their Airbnb cabins tucked away in the heart of Branson. Both cabins were alive with laughter, chatter, and the happy energy that only comes when you know something really special is about to happen. Tori and Bob each got ready surrounded by their closest people, and the atmosphere was so beautifully laid-back—just like them.
Once they were ready, the couple shared their first look on the deck between the two cabins. And oh, my heart. They read their vows to one another in that quiet, sacred space, and it was such a beautiful, emotional moment. One of my favorite things about these two is that they are so affectionate—it was constant hugs, kisses, and smiles. I never had to ask them to kiss for a photo—they were already doing it. You could just feel how much they love being together.
After some incredibly sweet moments with her dad and future father-in-law, we all headed over to Big Cedar’s Garden Chapel for the ceremony. The chapel itself is stunning in its simplicity, which made Tori and Bob the true center of attention, just as it should be. One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was their flower unity—guests, family, and the wedding party each placed a tulip in a basket with a wish or prayer for the couple. Tori and Bob then added their own tulips to the top, symbolizing the foundation of love and support that surrounds them. It was such a heartfelt and unique touch.
With the exchange of rings and a big kiss, they were officially married—and the smiles on their faces said it all. As they exited the chapel hand in hand, their guests gathered outside under the bright afternoon sun and filled the air with bubbles, surrounding the newlyweds in a cloud of joy and sparkle. The sunlight danced through the bubbles, making the moment feel even more magical.
After the ceremony, we paused for family and wedding party photos before the couple took a break to celebrate with lunch, laughter, and a round of mini-golf with their crew. (I’m still slightly bummed I missed out on that part!)
Later that evening, everyone gathered back at the Airbnb for the reception, and the cheers that welcomed Tori and Bob back were full of so much love. They shared their first dance as husband and wife, and from that moment on, the celebration was in full swing. Guests were treated to a pizza buffet (yes—every kind of pizza you can imagine!), heartfelt toasts, and sweet desserts.
There were games, laughter, happy tears, and more dancing as the sun set behind the trees. It was the kind of day that leaves you smiling all the way home—the kind of love that stays with you long after the dress is packed away and the flowers have dried.
Tori and Bob, thank you for letting me be a part of such a beautiful beginning. Your love is joyful, easy, and full of all of the good stuff. I have no doubt that your life together will be filled with just as much laughter and affection as your wedding day.
Here’s to a lifetime of pizza nights and endless kisses.
        Lots of Love,
        Jessica
