Brittney & MJ’s Summer Wedding at Sparrow Lane in Willard MO

We’ve been excitedly counting down the days to Brittney & MJ’s wedding at Sparrow Lane since their engagement session last Summer. These two are absolutely adorable together and I just love their go-with-the-flow attitude. Even the threat of rain wasn’t going to bring down the celebration! Surprisingly, it stayed away for the most part and ruined the last-minute idea of replacing golden hour photos with a trash-the-dress session.

After popping some champagne 🍾 (and spraying the photographer in what was quite possibly the best champagne photos I’ve done 😂), everybody finished getting ready! Brittney shared a first look with her bridesmaids before sharing a special first look with her dad. Afterward, her mom and dad gifted her a special necklace of her mom’s to wear for the wedding. It was such a sweet moment. And then it was FINALLY time for MJ to see his bride. I really love moments like these. Seeing these two together and how at ease they are with one another is truly beautiful. After sharing a private moment and a few photos it was time to grab some wedding party and family portraits before the ceremony. This is when I got to see these two come by it naturally. They are surrounded by some of the most easy-going family & friends.

Everyone truly was just there, full of joy and ready to celebrate this amazing couple. After a sweet & beautiful ceremony, it was time to head over to the reception for dinner and dancing. The night was filled with smiles, laughter, and so much love. Brittney & MJ, Thank You for allowing us to share these amazing memories with you. I cannot wait to see where your love story takes you next!!

Lots of Love,
Jessica

The Barlow Family | Summer 2022

Jamie & Shane hold such a special place in my heart! It has been 6 years of photographing this amazing couple, from their engagement & wedding thru the birth of their two perfect kiddos! Lincoln just turned 3 and he just loves that he gets to run and play when we do photos. I could watch him laugh and play for hours!! Nolan wasn’t quite as sure about the camera this time – but he was all about that “twinkie smash” for his first birthday pictures! I just wonder how many more years I can get away with Shane hanging Lincoln upside down to recreate that photo…

Miranda & Zachary’s Storybook Wedding Day | Mildred B Cooper & The Old Glass Place

From the first moment I heard their story, it was like Zach and Miranda’s love story was straight out of a romance novel. From the moment I met them at their engagement session, I was in love with this amazing couple. I could have kept photographing them all night. The amount of love you see in their eyes can take your breath away. So it’s no surprise that I was impatiently waiting for their wedding day so that I could get them back in front of my camera once again.

We headed down to Bella Vista, Arkansas to meet Miranda & Zach at the gorgeous Mildred B Cooper Glass Chapel. After getting ready, the couple shared a quick moment to pray with one another before it was time to officially become husband and wife. Even without seeing one another, the emotions were strong. I almost thought Miranda might sneak a peek at him around the corner because she was so excited. So after hiding them away, all of the guests began arriving at the chapel (all dressed in black by request of the couple – which was AMAZING). Everyone was so happy and ready to share in this special moment. To make the day extra special, Miranda’s grandfather officiated the wedding. After sharing their personal vows and lighting their unity candle it was time to make it official. And then, one of my absolute favorite moments of the day, Zach went in for the kiss before it was announced. His love for Miranda had made everyone else in the room disappear. So after a round of laughter, the couple finally had their chance to share their first kiss as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, the guests all headed back to Springfield, MO for the wedding reception and we headed to the airport. The sun was shining brightly as the couple rolled up on the tarmac, and the groom helped his bride out of the car into the plane. He may not have been flying this time himself, but it was only fitting that this pilot and his bride would fly back to Springfield in style. After a few portraits, we headed back to downtown Springfield to the gorgeous Old Glass Place. I have been waiting anxiously to get a chance to photograph a wedding here. (I mean, it’s only taken like 8 years of my career since I started doing weddings in Missouri!!) Even though I waited much longer than I would have liked – I am so glad this was the wedding I had there first. This perfect couple and the romantic lighting of the venue were a perfect fit. The reception was filled with their favorite people ready to celebrate their special day. The evening was filled with so much love. After winning the cake jar competition, Miranda sweetly smeared cake and icing all over Zach’s face before he thanked her with a kiss. And then before the garter toss – he showed off some fancy dance moves sending laughter thru the crowd. Afterward, everyone danced the rest of the night away. The dog of honor even showed up for the last few dances before the couple was sent off thru a sea of sparklers! It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Miranda & Zachary, Thank you both, and your families, for sharing all of these special memories with us. I just know that there are going to be so many more amazing chapters in your romance novel – and I can’t wait to see them. Congratulations again!!!

      Lots of Love,
      Jessica

        Charity + Prabhakar’s Hindu-American Wedding | Affinity Riverside Estate

Charity and Prabhakar took unplugged during their Hawaiian honeymoon – so I have been anxiously waiting for these two lovebirds to return to post these sneak peeks!! Their wedding day arrived on what was the hottest day of the Summer so far. Everyone was pre-gaming water, Gatorade, and Liquid IV for days in preparation. Nothing was going to put a wrench in the plans for this much-awaited day. I was just as excited as the family. I had so much last Summer for their Engagement session – and honestly, Charity & Prahakar are two of the absolute kindest human beings I’ve ever met. Their compassion and loving hearts toward everyone around them makes my heart so happy. We had been counting down for what seemed like forever. Plans even changed a few times as they prepared to celebrate both their American and Hindu weddings here in Missouri.

When the big day arrived, the bride & groom’s suites bustled with activity as everyone got ready. Charity began the day in a simple & elegant white slip dress for a first look with her groom-to-be. They absolutely couldn’t take their eyes off one another as they shared a few moments together before the beautiful chaos of the day continued. After a few quick portraits, it was time for them both to hide away again as they changed into their Indian clothing. The ceremonies began with the Baraat as guests led Prabhakar to the Patio where he was welcomed by Charity’s family and the parents exchanged beautiful flower garlands. As the guests were seated P headed to the stairs where he waited for his bride’s entrance. After greeting the wedding party it was finally time to see his bride once again. You could see the emotion in both of their eyes when she reached the bottom of the stairs and they shared a quick private moment before walking into the ceremony together.

After both families happily accepted the couple as part of their own, the Hindu ceremony began. I will be honest that I cannot tell you the significance behind so many parts of their wedding – but I can say that it was possibly the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever witnessed. The fact is that you could both see and feel all of the love surrounding this amazing couple. Hindu wedding ceremonies are a lot more lengthy (over an hour) than a traditional American wedding, but even with the 105* Missouri heat and the humidity – it was perfect. I can say this is the first time I’ve seen a bride have to reapply sunscreen in the middle of her wedding. After the Hindu ceremony was concluded the couple shared their personal vows bringing both laughter & tears, before sharing their first kiss and being officially proclaimed as husband and wife.

Everyone was ready to move into the shade to enjoy cocktail hour, followed by dinner & dessert. After another quick clothing change, the couple joined everyone back out on the patio to dance the rest of the Summer evening away under the twinkle lights. And after some shrewd negotiating with his new sisters-in-laws, P even got his shoes back before it was time for their Sparkler exit.

Charity & Prabhakar, Congratulations again! I am beyond thankful to have met you. There aren’t enough words to express how much I appreciate all of the kindness and love we received from both you and your families. I am so excited to see where your love story goes next!

        Lots of Love,
        Jessica

Kiley & Kirk’s Summer Wedding at Haseltine Estate | Springfield MO

Kiley & Kirk’s wedding day had us feeling all of the Summer vibes — even if it was technically a few days short of officially being Summer. It brought our hottest wedding day of the year (so far) – and even so, everyone was in amazing spirits. If I could pick a wedding to photograph over and over again – this would for sure be one of the couples I’d choose. All of the kids were over-running us with cuteness – and the wedding party kept us on our toes. I am not sure I have ever laughed as much at a wedding as I did last weekend. In fact, I’m pretty sure I want to hire the maid-of-honor to work with us – just purely for the giggles and entertainment. Though, I probably need to make sure she doesn’t have to be in charge of the rings or she might kill me. And the best part – every single person in this wedding party made us feel extremely welcome. Everyone came ready to celebrate and have fun! I wasn’t sure I could love Kylie & Kirk anymore than I already did – and then their friend group proved me wrong by showing me this extremely fun side of them.  Seriously though, this wedding was amazing. The entire day just felt so filled with joy and love. It truly is couples and wedding days like this that remind me how much I love and am blessed to have the career that I do.

Kiley & Kirk, Thank You for sharing your love story with us! I am incredibly thankful to have met you both. CONGRATULATIONS again!!!!

          Lots of Love,
          Jessica
