Karen + Jacob’s Engagement Photos in Downtown Springfield, MO

I started this past weekend by meeting up with Karen & Jacob for their engagement session in Downtown Springfield. I could not wait to get this stunning couple in front of my camera! While planning their session they really loved the idea of capturing downtown. So we got in touch with Hotel Vandivort and got permission to come in early and take advantage of the view at Vantage’s rooftop bar. It was a little cold outside, but a couple of drinks and lots of snuggles made this session a breeze. I had such a hard time picking just a “few” photos to share for their sneak peek. I had so much fun hanging out with this sweet couple and I could have photographed them for hours. Luckily I won’t have to wait too long to get them back in front of the camera!

Jacon & Karen, Thank You for letting me share in these moments of your amazing love story! I cannot wait to celebrate you both and I’m already counting down until the big day!!!

Lots of Love,
Jessica

Sabrina + Isaac | Big Cedar Winter Christmas Wedding, Ridgedale MO

Sabrina’s family has been going to Big Cedar for the holiday season since she was a little girl. She has dreamed about having her Christmas wedding in the Garden Chapel and luckily her wonderful fiance’, Isaac, was more than happy to make her dreams come true. We even had the magic of a white Christmas with the most recent Winter storm. Despite the negative temperatures, Sabrina was full of smiles all day! Their intimate wedding day began at the Garden Chapel where her dad officiated the wedding. Isaac and Sabrina took a moment together to create their anniversary box, complete with a bottle of wine to share along with their love notes on their first wedding anniversary. Each year they’ll enclose a new bottle of wine and letters to remind them of the beautiful journey they’ve taken together. After exchanging vows and rings they were officially pronounced husband and wife, sharing their first kiss as newlyweds.

After the ceremony, we captured family photos with their loved ones before sending everyone on their way to the reception. Sabrina and Isaac were so full of happiness as we took portraits of just the two of them. They were more than happy to just snuggle up and stare lovingly into one another’s eyes. We even snuck outside for a few super quick photos (much to Sabrina’s toes chagrin, I’m sure). It may have felt like -30* but their joy at having their snow-covered Christmas wedding was worth a little frostbite according to our beautiful bride.

After finishing portraits it was time to warm up and head to meet everyone for their reception at The Worman House. Everyone greeted them with a round of cheers before settling into their lunch. The couple cut their wedding cake and then spent the rest of their reception mingling with their family and friends. The room was full of laughter and joy, as everyone celebrated this sweet couple! As everyone drifted away to prepare for their family Christmas get-together later that evening, the couple snuck away for a quick coffee together, a perfect end to their afternoon.

Sabrina & Isaac, Thank You for sharing your dream wedding with us! I am wishing you both so much happiness in your future together.

    Lots of Love,
    Jessica

Bryan + Sarah’s Intimate Winter Bass Pro Wedding, Springfield MO

Bryan and Sarah traveled all the way back to Missouri from their current home on my beloved island of Hawaii – to celebrate their wedding here with their family and friends. They had eloped about a year ago, as many military couples do, and have one of the best wedding stories I’ve heard in my entire life. But they decided to host their formal wedding celebration at Bass Pro’s Morris Conservation Center to represent their love of the outdoors, nature and conservation. The entire wedding day felt very much family-focused.

After getting ready, Sarah & Bryan shared sweet gifts and cards with their wedding party and parents. Then they took a moment to read letters from each other, before sharing a first-look and private moment together in front of the large fireplace where they would shortly share their vows. The frigid temps and breeze left us sneaking outside for only a quick moment for portraits but these two were champions.

The ceremony had a warm and cozy feel to it. Once they described their style to me as eccentric art lovers in a log cabin with a wood-burning fireplace. And in a way I felt like that is what we stepped into on their wedding day. They sweetly walked down the aisle together after which Bryan’s father (and officiant) took a selfie with everyone before everyone put their phones away so they could share in this special moment. Bryan & Sarah shared their vows and exchanged rings before being officially pronounced husband and wife (again)!!

After family photos, the guests headed to cocktail hour while the happy couple snuck away for a quiet moment and a few quick photos in the Aquarium. Soon after we headed back so they could make their entrance into the reception to a round of cheers by everyone. They sweetly shared their first dance together and Sarah shared a special poem before everyone enjoyed dinner. After dinner was wrapping up it was time for speeches. Each speech was filled with so much love and affection for this couple. And yet again, you could see just how special their family and loved ones are to them. After cutting their cake, Sarah & Bryan both shared extremely sweet dances with their moms. And then it was time to party. Everyone was dancing and mingling and just enjoying have this special time together. Before I knew it, it was time to head out. But before the night ended the guests had a fun time blowing bubbles around this wonderful couple as they shared another dance together.

Bryan & Sarah, Thank You for sharing this beautiful day with us! I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next!

      Lots of Love,
      Jessica

Lorin + Tyler’s Fall Family Photos

It isn’t very often that I get to photograph my couples in between their engagement session and their wedding day – so I was thrilled when Lorin reached out about squeezing in some family photos this Fall. I absolutely adore Lorin and Tyler and getting to meet the little ones that complete their beautiful blended family! Lorin even brought her parents to tag along for the fun! This was definitely one of my coldest sessions this year but everyone did such a phenomenal job of making it go quickly. The little man wasn’t quite so sure about me and that giant camera – BUT I got at least one big grin by the end of the session. Well, in reality, his big sister got it out of him – but I’m still calling that a total win!

Tyler & Lorin, Thank You for sharing your gorgeous family with me! I cannot wait to celebrate with you both this Spring!!!

          Lots of Love,
          Jessica
