Brendon & Rachel’s Wedding at Savoy Ballroom, Springfield MO

I first met Rachel several years ago when she was DJing for a local wedding company! You could tell she was just genuinely kind! It is always a big compliment when somebody from the wedding community chooses to work with you because you know they’ve had the chance to meet & work with so many wonderful local professionals!
Now she runs her own business making wedding cakes. So when Rachel reached out 2 years ago asking if I would photograph her and Brendon’s wedding my heart was so full! Brendon & Rachel are two of the kindest people and I really loved being able to watch these two celebrate with their loved ones!

We started out this Sunday morning early. The fog was fairly thick as we parked and unloaded for the day. Brendon was getting ready at The Savoy while Rachel finished up at the loft across the street! After getting ready we headed across the street to The Savoy so that Rachel could share a first look with her dad. The tears were flowing before her dad even turned around – so you can imagine how it went when she got to finally see her groom. Rachel and Brendon just have the most contagious smiles around one another. I just love watching them together. Nothing about this foggy gray day was going to dim their spirits!

After some quick portraits outside  it was time to hide away and prepare for the ceremony, as well as sign the Ketubah. After over 10 years of weddings – this was my first Jewish wedding. I absolutely love every time I get to learn more about the way different cultures and religions celebrate marriage. The couple stood under the chuppa while Rabbi Rita performed their ceremony full of love and blessings. It was beautiful and ended with the traditional smashing of the glass and sharing a kiss!

After the ceremony everyone gathered for the brunch reception! I may not be a morning person but I think way more weddings should have breakfast receptions! 🙂 After eating everyone continued to socialize before toasts and the special dances. And then they opened the dance floor with a traditional Jewish dance, the Hora, where the couple is hoisted up in chairs while their loved ones danced around them. Everyone had an amazing time celebrating Rachel & Brendon’s wedding day!

Mazel tov Mr & Mrs Fox!!! Thank You for choosing to share your wedding day with us! I am so happy for you both and I cannot wait to see where your love story takes you next!

Lots of Love,
Jessica
