Ka + Daniel | Southern Charm Estate Wedding, Mt Vernon MO

We kicked off the Spring Wedding season this past weekend with Ka & Daniel’s beautiful wedding day at Southern Charm Estate. Despite the chill in the air, the sun was shining brightly. We arrived at the venue to find Ka and her bridesmaids full of smiles, listening to music while finishing their hair and makeup! These girls were so much fun and some of the best hype girls I’ve ever seen! You could tell just how much love they had for their friend and wanted to make her day as wonderful as possible!

Soon, Daniel and his groomsmen rolled in, relaxed with lunch in hand. Ka had told Daniel she didn’t need anything – but he brought her fries anyway. I’m pretty sure that he’s going to knock this marriage thing out of the park with those moves. Fries are never a bad idea! After a quick youtube reminder of the perfect way to tie, the guys were ready to roll. Even after over 9 years of weddings, I still get surprised at how little time it takes the guys to get ready versus the ladies. Ka’s mom arrived just in time to watch her beautiful daughter get dressed and become a bride. This was such a sweet moment for the two of them. I could tell just how happy she was to have her there. After finishing getting dressed and all of her jewelry on it was FINALLY time to share a first look with her husband.

We headed to the Chapel before guests could arrive. Ka and Daniel wanted that special private moment of seeing each other for the first time. Tears were falling right away as they took in this once-in-a-lifetime moment. After lots of hugs, they each shared the letters they had written, which brought even more tears. After another long hug, it was time to hide away as the guests arrived and began being seated in the chapel.

The ceremony was so beautiful! Both Daniel & Ka’s parents lit candles before Ka’s father escorted her down the aisle and placed her hand within Daniel’s. After their officiant shared a little of their story Ka & Daniel shared their personal vows, exchanged rings, and lit their unity candle. Then they were officially pronounced husband and wife and shared their first kiss as newlyweds. Everyone cheered as they excitedly made their way back down the aisle. This is always one of my absolute favorite parts of a wedding!!! The joy and excitement are so contagious!

The guests joined cocktail hour while we took family photos. Then Daniel & Ka’s wedding party braved the cold & wind outside for a few photos! This group was rockstars and even though they were frigidly cold – shaking & shivering, they didn’t get grumpy a single time. After finishing up some portraits the wedding party was welcomed into the reception. It was time to celebrate!! After a yummy dinner, the best man and maid of honor gave beautiful speeches filled with love for their friends. Then guests laughed as Ka won the opportunity to smash cake in Daniel’s face. I think she still played it pretty nicely. (Maybe it was those fries he brought her for lunch!) While the guests ate cake and grabbed another drink we snuck outside for a short moment to capture that beautiful light falling on the horizon. It was so pretty outside, but despite this – I am pretty sure this officially was the fastest golden hour photos we’ve done. I think our bodies were going numb, but we were determined to get those photos!

After capturing that gorgeous sky, as quickly as possible, we headed back inside to keep celebrating. Ka and Daniel shared their first dance as husband and wife before sharing parent dances with her dad and his mom. These are always another of my favorite parts of the day. It’s just such a sweet moment because whomever the couple chooses to share these special dances with, tears are often involved. And I can’t help it, I love the tears and that outpouring of pure love. After the dances, Ka gathered the ladies to catch her bouquet and then it was time to PARTY! Everyone was mingling and enjoying their time together – whether it was on the dance floor, playing cornhole in the corner, or just squeezing in for “one more” at the photo booth. You could tell that this couple is so loved by their family & friends. Eventually, it was time to send them off. Their guests yelled their goodbyes and well-wishes as they waved their sparklers in the air.  It was a beautiful ending to their day!

Ka & Daniel, Thank you for sharing your perfect day with us. I am extremely thankful to have met the two of you. I cannot wait to see where your love story takes you next!
Congratulations again!!

Lots of Love,
Jessica
