Ben & Mel’s intimate winter wedding at Venue on Brick in Ozark, MO was the perfect way to end our 2020 wedding season. They have shown so much grace in the face of multiple wedding date reschedules, hoping that Ben’s family would be able to join us from Scotland. Unfortunately, it was going to be a while until travel was safe for all they decided that what meant the most was that they could finally be husband & wife and officially join their family together.
So while the original (or even second) set of plans may have fallen thru – everyone came together to create such a magical evening to celebrate this amazing couple. It felt a bit like a Winter wonderland while bringing in a sense of Ben’s Scottish heritage thru the men wearing kilts and a bit of Tartan throughout the decor. Mel even had a gorgeous tartan train made to customize her wedding gown.
Nervous excitement filled the air as guests filed into the candlelight ceremony. Loved ones who could not be physically present joined via an online feed and watched from afar. Despite his recent surgery, Mel’s father insisted on walking her down the aisle where Ben waited. It was so beautiful to watch as these two completed the tradition of a handfasting ceremony and then officially joined together as a family. The entire evening was filled with so much love as family & friends toasted to this beautiful couple…bringing tears to the eyes of so many.
Mel & Ben, I am so thankful to have been able to share in this day with you and those you hold close to your heart. I cannot wait to watch your love story continue to unfold!
